Attend an Event

We are excited to have President of CFED, Andrea Levere, keynoting our flagship event for 2014.  The luncheon will be held at 12 noon on October 15, 2014 at the Hyatt Place Raleigh West.

The luncheon will focus on the importance of financial empowerment for individuals and families, in particular low-income households, through programs and policies that enable working families to save and become financially secure. Levere will highlight national asset-building innovations, and ways to get involved at the community level with the asset-building movement.

This event is free and open to the public but space is limited so attendees must register.  If you are interested in attending please visit to  or call (919) 212-4267 to register.

Every two years, The Collaborative holds it’s premier Financial Education and Asset-Building Conference.  This conference brings together key thinkers and practitioners from across the country to explore critical issues, provide research and offer solutions for common challenges.

The most recent conference was held on October 16-17, 2013 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel located at 4700 Emperor Blvd. Durham, NC.

The Collaborative celebrated our 10th Anniversary of service to North Carolina on April 3, 2012 at the PNC Arena in Raleigh. New and old friends joined us to take a look at our accomplishments over the years and to hear about our plans for the future.

Why Give

Your gift helps break the cycle of poverty in North Carolina and creates a state where all have the opportunity to move up the economic ladder. Income is important, but it is not enough. Individuals and households can build assets when financial education is available in communities across the state - we all need to know how to choose consumer friendly financial products and steer clear of high cost, predatory services. You can move more people toward economic security by investing in The Collaborative.
